Length is not thoroughness, and eloquence can be a place to hide. These techniques get you the smallest answer that actually works.

Which version of it is yours?

  • Filter Before You Reason — the answer engages your side comment and the pasted thread’s opinions instead of your actual question
  • Eloquence as Evasion — the answer to ‘did it work’ is no, buried politely in paragraph three
  • Smallest Working Answer — the answer is one sentence, delivered inside a restatement, three options, caveats, and an offer to elaborate
